Established in 1973 by then Governor Teresa Javier Dupaya, the Cagayan Museum is the prime Culture and Arts arm of the Provincial Government of Cagayan with the task of preserving, protecting and celebrating Cagayan's rich historical and cultural patrimony and promoting its culture and the arts.

THE MUSEUM
The Cagayan Museum and Historical Research Center is a division of the Office of the Provincial Governor of Cagayan that spearheads the culture and arts programs of the Province, research and conservation programs within the museum and throughout the province. The museum is housed in the historic Casa Tribunal de Cagayan built in 1877 and restored in 2018 by Gov. Manuel Mamba, a repository of the natural and cultural history of Cagayanos and our environment. The collection ranges from thousands of years ago to the present.
